What does chasteberry do?

Chasteberry can be used for the treatment of liver and kidney yin deficiency, dizziness, tinnitus, lumbar and knee pain and weakness, premature whitening of the beard, dark eyes, internal heat and thirst (internal fever accompanied by excessive eating, drinking and urination, etc.), bone vapor and hot flashes (a burst of heat, feeling that the heat is coming from the inside of the bone to the outside) and other diseases.
Chasteberry is the dried mature fruit of Ligustrum officinale, family Mulleinaceae, which is sweet, bitter and cool in nature, and belongs to the liver and kidney meridians. It has the efficacy of nourishing the liver and kidney and inventing the purpose, and can be used to treat the diseases of yin deficiency of the liver and kidney, vertigo and tinnitus, lumbar and knee soreness and weakness, premature whitening of the beard, darkening of the eyes and uncertainty, internal heat and thirst, and bone vaporization and tidal fever.
This product is suitable for the treatment of premature whitening of beard and hair and darkening of eyes due to Yin deficiency of the liver and kidney. The former can be used alone, such as chasteberry ointment, or used together with Mojiaolian, such as Erzhi Pill; the latter is often used together with Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata and Fructus Lycii Ziziphi, such as Jiawei Kanli Pill.
It is also used in treating dizziness and insomnia, palpitations, low-grade fever or afternoon fever caused by deficiency of yin in the liver and kidney, and internal disturbance of deficiency heat, etc. It can be used together with Angelica sinensis, Radix Rehmanniae Praeparata, Radix et Rhizoma Murrayae, such as Nourishing the Liver and Kidney Pill. Although this product is tonic but not greasy, but the nature of the cold, spleen and stomach cold diarrhea and Yang deficiency should not be taken.
