Is Lung Cancer Stage 1A2 Early?

Lung cancer stage IA2 is early stage, meaning that the tumor is located in the lung tissue and has not metastasized. Lung cancer is a primary malignant tumor originating in the lung. Clinically, non-small cell lung cancer is divided into stage I, II, III and IV according to TNM staging.Stage IA contains stage IA1 (T1miN0M0, T1aN0M0), stage IA2 (T1bN0M0) and stage IA3 (T1cN0M0). T1 refers to a tumor with a maximum diameter of <=3 cm, surrounded by lung tissue or visceral pleura, and bronchoscopically visible tumor invasion not exceeding the lobar bronchus (not invading the main bronchus), where T1b refers to a 1-cm < maximum diameter of the tumor <=2 cm. n0 means no regional lymph node metastasis, and M0 means no distant metastasis. Usually, patients with early stage non-small cell lung cancer will have cough, which is often manifested as paroxysmal irritating dry cough, and some early stage patients will also have symptoms such as blood in sputum, hemoptysis, dyspnea, hoarseness and so on. If lung tissues cause erosion to neighboring organs, irregular pain in chest will occur, manifesting as dull pain or hidden pain. The prognosis of lung cancer mainly depends on the clinical stage, therefore, patients with early stage of lung cancer should go to the hospital in time, improve the examination and cooperate with doctors for active treatment. Meanwhile, they need to strengthen daily life management and follow up the consultation on time.
