3. Enlarged adenoids: often have nasal congestion, runny nose, nasal congestion nasal sound; and can induce secretory otitis media. Because of the upper respiratory tract obstruction, breathing is often through the mouth. Treatment with drugs such as mometasone furoate nasal spray and montelukast is needed. If symptoms are severe, adenoidectomy is needed.
