Is 6.6 normal?

Whether or not a blood glucose of 6.6 mmol/L is normal needs to be determined by whether or not you were fasting when your blood glucose was taken; if you were fasting your blood glucose was abnormal and high, and if you were 2 hours postprandial your blood glucose was normal. The normal value of fasting blood glucose is between 3.9 and 6.1 mmol per liter, and the normal value of 2-hour postprandial blood glucose is less than 7.8 mmol per liter. If a blood glucose measurement of 6.6 mmol/L is taken on a fasting basis, it is considered high and is usually abnormal. If the blood glucose value of 6.6 mmol per liter was measured 2 hours after a meal, it is within the normal range and is normal. If the patient’s blood glucose value exceeds the normal range, it is recommended to go to the hospital in time for diabetes-related examinations and seek medical treatment in time to avoid deterioration of the condition.
