It is used for dizziness and redness of the eyes, tinnitus and deafness caused by dampness-heat of the liver and gallbladder, dystocia (pain in the area of the coxa and ribs), and bitterness in the mouth. Its adverse reactions and contraindications are not clear. Use with caution in pregnant women, the elderly and infirm, and those with loose stools. Avoid spicy and stimulating food. Do not take tonic Chinese medicine at the same time. Children should be taken under the guidance of a physician. If it is a case of damp-heat in the spleen and stomach, it can be taken orally with herbs such as Gardenia, Yin Chen, Poria, and so on.
