3. Genital herpes: It is caused by herpes simplex virus infection of urogenital and perianal skin and mucous membranes, and the affected area may have red spots, itching, pain and other symptoms. It can be treated with antiviral drugs such as acyclovir, valacyclovir or famciclovir. If the pain is severe, aspirin, acetaminophen or ibuprofen can also be used to help relieve herpes pain.
