Goldenseal with Ophiopogon

Goldenseal is sweet in flavor and flat in nature. It belongs to lung, liver, kidney and bladder meridians. It has the effect of clearing heat and cooling blood, dispelling wind and inducing dampness. Ophiopogon is sweet, slightly bitter and slightly cold in nature. It belongs to heart, lung and stomach meridians. It is used for lung dryness and dry cough, yin deficiency and consumptive cough, laryngeal paralysis (pharynx is red, swollen and painful, or dry, with foreign body sensation, or pharyngeal itching and discomfort, dysphagia), sore throat, fluid injury and thirst, internal heat and thirst (internal fever accompanied by symptoms such as overeating, drinking, and urinating), heartburn and insomnia, and intestinal dryness and constipation.
