What to do about scarring

Scar (i.e. keloid) hyperplasia can be treated by topical medication, laser treatment, and surgical excision.
1. Topical medication: If the patient’s scar hyperplasia is not serious, it can be reduced by topical medication, such as silicone preparations, cumquat cream ointment and so on.
2. Laser treatment: if the patient’s scarring is in the early stage, laser can also be used to improve the method, such as fractional laser, pulsed dye laser, and so on.
3. Surgery: If the patient’s scarring is more serious, conservative treatment is ineffective, or scar contracture has caused dysfunction, it can be treated by surgical excision under the guidance of the doctor.
If scarring affects aesthetics, or scarring is accompanied by other uncomfortable symptoms, it is recommended that the patient go to the hospital in time, with the help of the doctor for targeted treatment, in order to reduce the adverse effects of the disease.
