There are many epilepsies for which no cause can be found. Epilepsies for which no cause can be found can be diagnosed by intracranial electrode electroencephalography, and the main therapeutic aspect is seizure control. Clinically, there are some epilepsies for which it is difficult to find the cause, especially when there are no clear specific changes on noninvasive tests such as neuroimaging, which is called cryptogenic epilepsy. For this type of epilepsy, in addition to conventional examination methods, intracranial electrodes can be used for diagnosis. Intracranial electrodes are considered the gold standard for localizing the causative lesion and are a safe and reliable method of localization. While tracing the cause of epilepsy, medication can be chosen according to the type of seizure to treat and control the condition, and it is important to observe one’s symptoms during use to avoid adverse reactions. The use of drugs should start with a small dose to avoid large doses of damage to the body, under the formal guidance of the doctor, choose oral antiepileptic drugs, such as phenytoin sodium tablets, carbamazepine tablets, lamotrigine tablets and so on, to improve the symptoms of epilepsy. Daily life pay attention to keep emotional stability, appropriate exercise, avoiding exertion. The treatment of epilepsy should be standardized under the guidance of a doctor, and should not adjust or stop the medication on its own.
