Chinese patent medicines for gallstones include Stone Clearing Capsule and Qian Cao Granules. Stone Clearing Capsule has the effect of inducing diuresis, activating blood circulation and relieving pain; Qian Cao Granule has the effect of clearing dampness and heat, clearing drench, and reducing swelling.
1. Stone Clearing Capsule is composed of Stone Grass, Goose Feeding Grass and Yan Hu Suo. It is used for cholecystitis and cholelithiasis caused by the accumulation of damp-heat in liver and gallbladder.
2. Qiancheng Cao Granules, composed of Qiancheng Cao. It is used for heat drenching (obvious burning and stinging pain when urinating, accompanied by frequent urination and urgency, and discomfort of traction in the abdomen), stone drenching (discharge of gravel when urinating, or sudden interruption of urination, pain in the urethra, intolerable pain in the lower back and abdomen), astringent pain in urination, jaundice and redness in urine, carbuncle, furuncle, venomous snakebite, liver and gallstone, and urinary tract stone. Caution should be exercised if the spleen and stomach are cold.
