Ordinary constipation is mainly caused by daily diet and living habits; while bowel cancer constipation is more complicated and usually accompanied by other clinical manifestations. If constipation is not relieved after changes in daily habits and diet, or if there are symptoms related to bowel cancer, patients should go to the hospital in time. The causes of common constipation may include little exercise, low dietary fiber intake and low water intake. Constipation can often be relieved through moderate exercise, eating more coarse grains and fiber-rich foods, and drinking more water. Constipation caused by bowel cancer will have blood in the stool. Besides constipation, patients may also have diarrhea, constipation alternating with diarrhea. There are also clinical manifestations such as abdominal pain after eating, low fever, anemia, emaciation and weakness.
