Vocal cord inflammation refers to the inflammation that occurs at the vocal cords, which can be categorized into acute laryngitis, chronic laryngitis, vocal cord nodules, vocal cord polyps, etc. Different causes of the disease are treated in different ways. 1. Acute laryngitis: it can be manifested as vocal cord inflammation, mainly hoarseness, cough, sore throat, runny nose and other symptoms. It can be treated by general treatment such as drinking more water, talking as little as possible, and letting the vocal cords have enough rest; it can also be treated by antibiotics such as amoxicillin and glucocorticosteroids such as dexamethasone, etc.; if there is difficulty in breathing, the laryngeal obstruction can be lifted by tracheotomy.
2. Chronic laryngitis: it also has the manifestation of vocal cords inflammation, which is mainly hissing, increased laryngeal secretion, laryngeal discomfort and other symptoms. General treatment should drink more water, less talking, etc.; commonly used ibuprofen to relieve pain, azithromycin and other antibiotics for treatment; available physical therapy ultrasonic nebulizer inhalation; life-threatening, tracheotomy.
3. Vocal cord nodule: it can be manifested as vocal cord inflammation, with symptoms such as intermittent hoarseness and weak pronunciation. General treatments such as vocal rest and articulation training are needed to promote recovery, and if the general treatments are ineffective, vocal cord nodule excision is needed.
4. Vocal fold polyps: Vocal fold inflammation will occur, and the patient will have hoarseness and fatigue of pronunciation and other symptoms. Treatment and recovery can be through pronunciation training, pay attention to the vocal folds rest and other general treatment, mainly vocal polyp excision treatment.
