The way to drive away the cold after getting wet is to take three to ten grams of ginger and decoct it in water.
Ginger is pungent and slightly warm in nature, and belongs to the lung, stomach and spleen meridians. It can dissipate cold and relieve symptoms, relieve cough and resolve phlegm. It is often used in conjunction with white onion and brown sugar to expel cold. If sweating is needed, it can be combined with Qiang Wu and Gui Zhi to enhance the sweating power.
If accompanied by cough and phlegm, almonds and ephedra can be used in combination, such as San’ao Tang. If there is a lot of phlegm and the color is white, it can be combined with the use of drugs such as half-sia and Chenpi, such as Er Chen Tang.
However, ginger is not suitable for those who have internal heat due to deficiency of Yin as well as those who have excessive heat, so it is recommended to take it under the guidance of a physician in order to avoid damaging the organism.
