What are the dietary contraindications after a recent chalazion surgery?

Patients with chalazion, also known as a blepharocyst, need to take care of themselves after surgery by avoiding a diet heavy in spicy, oily foods and avoiding alcohol.
Surgery for chalazion cysts involves an incision on the conjunctival or skin surface of the lid. In order to promote the recovery of the incision, patients need to avoid spicy and irritating foods and alcohol after the surgery, otherwise it can affect the recovery of the incision and may also cause eye infection.
Blepharophalangeal cysts are mostly formed due to the accumulation of secretions after the opening of the blepharophalangeal gland is blocked. Patients who have a long-term diet of oily food may affect the secretion of the blepharophalangeal gland, therefore, patients with blepharophalangeal cysts should avoid eating a lot of oily food or it may lead to the regeneration of the cysts.
It is recommended that patients follow the doctor’s instructions for care after blepharocyst surgery, have regular checkups, and seek prompt medical attention when discomfort occurs.
