Why pregnant women become anemic

There are two main causes of anemia in pregnant women, one is physiological anemia due to the increase in circulating blood volume, and the other is pathological anemia due to the lack of hematopoietic raw materials.
1. Physiological anemia: During pregnancy, the circulating blood volume of pregnant women increases significantly compared to the previous one, but there is no obvious change in red blood cells, resulting in blood dilution, which is called physiological anemia.
2. Pathological anemia: common iron deficiency anemia and megaloblastic anemia, due to the increase in the total blood volume of pregnant women during pregnancy, the demand for iron, folic acid, vitamin B12 and other raw materials increased, so when these hematopoietic raw materials are deficient, anemia is often manifested.
There are many other causes of anemia in pregnant women, it is recommended to consult the hospital in time, complete the relevant examinations, clarify the cause of the disease, and carry out targeted treatment and therapy under the guidance of the doctor.
