Difference in efficacy between Zuojin Wan and Jiawei Zuojin Wan

The difference in efficacy between Zuo Jin Wan and Jia Wei Zuo Jin Wan is that Zuo Jin Wan has the efficacy of diarrhea of fire, detoxification of liver, harmonization of stomach, and pain relief; Jia Wei Zuo Jin Wan has the efficacy of calming the liver and lowering rebelliousness, and detoxifying and relieving pain. Zuo Jin Wan is composed of Rhizoma Coptidis and Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum. It is used in treating pain in the epigastric region caused by liver fire in the stomach, bitter and noisy mouth (stomach with sensation similar to hunger, emptiness with burning), vomiting of sour water, and dislike of hot drinks. Jia Wei Zuo Jin Wan, composed of Jiang Lian Lian, Prepared Wu Zhu Zhu, Scutellaria Baicalensis, Chai Hu, Mu Xiang, Vinegar Aromatic Parsley, Ul Jin, and Bai Shao. It is used for liver depression and fire (liver qi is blocked leading to the production of fire and heat), chest and epigastric congestion (fullness and discomfort in the chest and abdomen) caused by liver and stomach disharmony, irritability, belching (hiccups), acid swallowing (swallowing of acid in the stomach upward in the oropharynx), and gastric pain and less food. The adverse reactions and contraindications of Zuo Jin Wan and Jia Wei Zuo Jin Wan are not known. Drugs should be used under medical supervision.
