Are multiple nodules in both lungs benign?

Multiple nodules in both lungs may be benign or malignant. Initial judgment can be made based on the size and nature of the nodules, e.g., under 5mm, most of the nodules are benign, and over 8mm may be malignant. Multiple nodules in both lungs are generally categorized into three common conditions, namely, ground-glass nodules, partially solid nodules, and solid nodules, of which partially solid nodules have a higher degree of malignancy. If the patient’s nodules are less than 5mm, most of them are benign, usually due to chronic inflammation, and usually do not need to give special treatment, but should go to the hospital on time to follow up and observe the changes of the nodules. If the patient’s nodule is larger than 8mm, and the manifestation pattern is short burr, lobular, or the presence of pleural depression sign, pulling sign and other characteristics, there is a possibility of malignancy, and further examination should be given to determine. It is recommended that the patient go to the hospital in time to improve the chest enhancement CT, cytohistology biopsy and other tests to help make an accurate judgment, so as to avoid misdiagnosis.
