Stewed chicken with panax pseudoginseng root has the effect of dispersing blood stasis and stopping bleeding (removing stasis and stopping bleeding), and subduing swelling and relieving pain (eliminating swelling and pain), but the medicinal effect it can exert is limited. Panax notoginseng root, the Chinese medicine Panax notoginseng, is sweet, slightly bitter and warm in nature, belonging to the liver and stomach meridians, with the effects of dispersing blood stasis, stopping bleeding, subduing swellings and relieving pain, and can be used for treating hemoptysis, vomiting blood, epistaxis, blood in stools and faeces, leakage of menstruation, bleeding from traumatic injuries, stabbing pain in the chest and abdomen, and pain and swelling of bruises and flanks. Panax ginseng can also be used to treat deficiency of both qi and yin (deficiency of both qi and yin), palpitation (accelerated heartbeat, often accompanied by panic) and restlessness, shortness of breath, chest tightness, chest pain, and deficiency injury caused by stagnation of heart veins (obstruction of the heart veins by stagnant blood). Pregnant women should be cautious of using Panax ginseng. When discomfort occurs, one should consult a doctor in time and choose medication under the guidance of physician’s diagnosis, and should not use medication on one’s own in order to avoid delaying the condition.
