The location of the acne does not reflect the internal health of the body

There is a popular saying on the Internet that the skin of the face is a mirror reflecting the function of the internal organs of the body, and the location of acne reflects the health problems of different organs of the body, such as forehead acne corresponds to excessive toxins in the liver, and right cheek acne indicates rising lung fire. Is this true? Countless patients have asked whether the location of acne reflects the health of different organs. There may not be any reason for the various schools of thought, but according to the current mainstream Chinese medicine doctrine and Chinese medicine textbooks, there is no material to show the correlation between the location of acne on the face and the health of internal organs. According to his clinical observations, there is no necessary connection between the two either. The treatment of TCM in this area is mainly based on the color and shape of the acne and the tongue, pulse, urine and stool and menstrual conditions (in women) for typing and treatment. According to Chinese medicine, acne is mainly caused by Yang heat, combined with the vigorous vitality of adolescence, heat in the blood, stagnation of qi and blood, and blockage of the skin; or by eating fatty and heavy food, which leads to heat accumulation in the lungs and stomach, dampness and phlegm, phlegm-heat interconnection, blood with heat, and congestion on the chest and face. With the development of the disease, the situation further worsens and nodules and cysts are formed. In other women, acne worsens around the time of menstruation because the flush is not regulated and the sea of blood does not fill up on time. ”In Chinese medicine, there are three types of pimples: Lung meridian wind-heat type, phlegm-heat nodule type, and Chong Ren imbalance type, each with different symptoms. If the pimples are small and red, they are usually of the lung-heat type; if the pimples are red and swollen with pus, they are mostly of the phlegm-heat type; if the pimples appear or worsen around the time of the woman’s menstrual cycle, they are of the punch-perfect type.” In addition, each of these three types of acne has its own season. In summer, phlegm-heat acne is more common; in autumn and winter, it is more likely to be wind-heat acne of the lung meridian; and the unregulated type of acne has no distinct season, but is only related to women’s menstrual period.
