Can chronic belching become cancerous?

Long-term belching is potentially cancerous. Belching, commonly known as burping, is one of the common symptoms of digestive disorders and is mainly caused by reflux esophagitis, chronic gastritis, peptic ulcer, functional dyspepsia, etc. Belching may also occur occasionally in normal people. Long-term belching is commonly associated with reflux esophagitis, which has a certain potential for cancer if it persists for a long time. Chronic atrophic gastritis also has the potential to develop into gastric cancer, but chronic superficial gastritis is less likely to become cancerous. Gastric ulcers have a 10% chance of becoming cancerous, while duodenal ulcers rarely become cancerous. Functional dyspepsia does not usually cause cancer. Long-term belching is mostly due to indigestion and reduced gastrointestinal motility, which can be relieved by oral medications such as stomachic and antibiotic tablets. If the symptoms are obvious, consider the possibility of gastrointestinal disease and promptly consult a gastroenterologist.
