What are frozen embryos?

Embryo cryopreservation is the long-term preservation of embryos obtained through in vitro fertilization by storing them in liquid nitrogen at -196℃.

For various purposes, embryos grown in test tubes are scored and the better ones are selected and frozen in liquid nitrogen at -196°C for later thawing.

With frozen embryo technology, mothers undergoing IVF do not have to ovulate repeatedly, but only need to increase the number of mature eggs with the help of ovulation stimulation drugs, so that the ovaries grow more than ten eggs at a time, so that theoretically there can be ten embryos.

Each time 1-3 embryos are implanted into the body, and if they are not viable, they can be transferred again with the help of pre-frozen embryos the next time, avoiding the pain and huge costs of multiple ovulation boosts.

Embryo freezing, as a more mature method of preserving fertility, has been widely used in clinical practice.
