What is the effect of Wujiexuan

Wuji San has the effects of warming the interior and releasing phlegm, smoothing qi and resolving phlegm, activating blood circulation and eliminating stagnation, and can be used to treat the five stagnation syndromes of external wind-cold sensation and internal injury of raw cold. The Chinese medicines in Wuji San include Atractylodes macrocephala, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae, Glycyrrhiza Glabra, Poria, Pinellia, Paeoniae Alba, Platycodon Grandiflorus, Citrus Aurantium, Huperzia, Paeoniae Ligustici, Rhizoma Ligustici Chuanxiong, Radix Angelicae Sinensis, Cinnamomum Cassiae, Ginger, Paeoniae Lactiflorae, Ephedra and Ginger. It can treat the five stagnant syndromes caused by five accumulations of cold, dampness, qi, blood and phlegm. Symptoms include headache and body pain, body heat without sweating, neck and back constriction (body spasm and convulsion due to wind-cold sensation), vomiting and abdominal pain, fullness in the chest (chest distension and discomfort) and bad appetite, as well as women’s heart and abdominal pain caused by blood and qi imbalance and stagnant qi due to cold condensation, menstrual irregularities and other symptoms. The adverse reactions and contraindications of Wuji San are not clear, and should be taken under the guidance of a physician.
