What is the cause of coarse texture on chest X-ray

Thickening of the lung texture on chest radiograph indicates inflammation in the lining of the bronchial lumen. The inflammatory response leads to reactive thickening of the bronchial lining, and chest radiographs show increased and thickened airways. Treatment is not always necessary. Occasionally, coughing can lead to reactive thickening of the bronchial walls and increased thickening of the lung texture. Chronic bronchitis and acute bronchitis can cause increased and thickened lung texture, which may not always require treatment, depending on the situation. In many cases, increased and thickened lung texture does not require treatment, such as the absence of sputum and occasional dry cough. For patients over 30 years of age with increased and coarsened lung texture, a chest CT is recommended because it provides a clearer picture, whereas a chest X-ray tends to miss many diseases.
