What are the methods of lowering blood sugar in Chinese medicine

There is no concept of lowering blood sugar in Chinese medicine. High blood sugar may cause symptoms such as excessive eating and drinking, which can be categorized as “consuming thirst” in TCM. The treatment of thirst includes oral administration of traditional Chinese medicines such as Jade Maiden Decoction, acupuncture points such as Sanyinjiao and Taixi, as well as auricular acupuncture.
1. If the patient is hungry, thirsty, has dry stools, is emaciated, has yellow moss, and has a slippery pulse, the patient can be treated with the Jade Lady Decoction to clear the stomach, nourish the yin, and increase the fluid in the body (to increase the body’s water and fluid). If the main cause is thirst, fatigue and weakness, and mental depression, use Seven-flavored Atractylodis Macrocephalae Powder to benefit the qi and strengthen the spleen, and to promote the production of fluids to quench thirst.
The adverse effects of the above drugs are not known. Those with spleen deficiency and stool leakage should not use Jade Lady Decoction. The contraindications of Seven-flavored Atractylodes Macrocephalae Powder are not clear.
