What does HSIL mean medically?

HSIL is commonly referred to in medical tests as high grade intraepithelial neoplasia of the cervix, also known as precancerous lesions. HSIL is usually detected by cervical TCT (cervical liquid-based cytology) and biopsy, etc. The presence of HSIL in a clinical examination indicates the presence of abnormalities in the body and a relatively high chance of developing cervical cancer. HSIL precancerous lesions are traditionally classified into three levels: mild atypical hyperplasia, moderate atypical hyperplasia, and severe atypical hyperplasia, and generally require colposcopic analysis of biopsies taken from the lesions to confirm the diagnosis. A biopsy can also be used to confirm the diagnosis of HSIL, which requires consideration of the cervical Liposuction approach to intervene at the lesion site. If HSIL results are present, it is recommended to seek prompt medical attention, complete the relevant investigations, clarify the cause of the disease under the guidance of the doctor, and carry out targeted management or treatment.
