What tests are done to check lipid cholesterol

Checking blood cholesterol refers to checking the concentration of cholesterol in the blood by means of a blood lipid test, which is mainly performed by drawing blood from a vein. The most common way to check cholesterol is to test for lipids. The components of blood lipids include triglycerides, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, LDL cholesterol and many others. Through the blood lipid test, it is obvious to see whether the value of cholesterol in the blood is normal or elevated, and only through the blood lipid test can we clearly determine whether the cholesterol is elevated or not. For patients with high cholesterol, tests such as electrocardiogram and carotid ultrasound are also usually done. These tests are mainly to determine whether elevated cholesterol is causing complications, such as carotid atherosclerosis, coronary atherosclerosis and other complications. Lipid checks can accurately see the amount of cholesterol in the blood, and patients are advised to go to a regular hospital for the tests.
