Surgery is generally recommended after a comminuted heel fracture. Surgical methods mainly include closed prying and repositioning therapy, incision and internal fixation, minimally invasive incision and repositioning, etc. For severe comminuted fractures, arthroplasty can be used. 1. Closed prying and repositioning therapy: it is to use manipulation combined with some instruments or steel pins to reposition, and this surgical method is suitable for some lingual fractures. 2. Incisional reduction and internal fixation: this technique can be performed under direct vision and fixation is performed with plate and screws. There may be a risk of infection in the incision, and care should be taken to prevent infection. 3. Minimally invasive incisional reduction: Minimally invasive surgery can reduce postoperative tissue edema and incisional scar formation, avoiding incisional complications. 4. Arthrofusion: Arthrofusion can be performed for severe comminuted fractures and articular surface fractures that cannot be anatomically repositioned. Due to the different physical conditions of patients, different stages of the disease, different treatment methods, when the patient has a comminuted fracture of the heel bone, should follow the doctor’s instructions to standardize the treatment.
