The prognosis of systemic metastasis after surgical total resection of gastric cancer is poor, and usually the treatment plan can only serve to prolong the life span or alleviate the pain in order to maximize the quality of patient’s survival. If gastric cancer patients develop systemic metastasis after undergoing surgical total stomach resection, they belong to the middle to late stage lesions of this malignant tumor. At this time, the cancer cells may have already metastasized to the major organs and lymphatic system in the body, and it is impossible to remove the tumor through surgery, so it has a great impact on the life and health as well as the normal body function, and the prognosis is poor. Gastric cancer patients with systemic metastasis after total excision can choose targeted drug therapy or radiotherapy to inhibit tumor cells in the whole body, which can control the proliferation and condition, but it is not possible to carry out a complete cure, and it can only prolong the life span and reduce the pain caused by gastric cancer. It is suggested that gastric cancer patients should have regular checkups after total excision, and if systemic metastasis occurs, they should be treated as early as possible.
