Itchy breasts are not always a precursor to cancer. Itchy breasts can be caused by food allergies, chemical fiber clothing allergies, over-cleaning, excessively dry skin, breast eczema or hives. Generally, in the pre-cancer stage, a hard lump will appear in the breast, accompanied by enlarged lymph nodes in the armpit, but it will not cause itching. Therefore, itchy breasts are not necessarily a sign of cancer. However, once the breast cancer spreads or metastasizes, the cancer cells block the subcutaneous lymphatic vessels, resulting in obstruction of lymphatic return, edema of the breast tissue, and the skin on the surface of the breast appears to be raised or dimpled, showing cellulite-like changes, which will cause itching. Itchy breasts are not necessarily a precursor to breast cancer, so there is no need to worry too much. If the itchy breast symptoms can not be relieved, it is recommended to go to the breast department or dermatology department of a regular hospital as soon as possible to find out the cause of the itchy breast symptoms and timely treatment.
