Although both Glycine and Degu are long-acting insulins, it is not recommended to use them interchangeably, please follow the doctor’s instructions. According to the “China Type 2 Diabetes Prevention and Control Guidelines (2020 Edition)”, Degu insulin and glycemic insulin are both long-acting insulins with long duration of action, smooth glycemic control, and better efficacy and safety, etc., and can be used in the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. Degu insulin has a half-life of 25 hours and a duration of action of 42 hours, while insulin glargine U300 has a half-life of 19 hours and a duration of action of 36 hours. Compared with insulin glargine, the longer half-life and longer duration of action of Degu insulin allows for effective, smooth, safe and high-quality glycemic control with a lower risk of hypoglycemia. Although both Insulin Glycine and Degu are long-acting insulins, there are differences in their half-life, duration of action, adverse reactions, etc. Therefore, it is not recommended to use them interchangeably on your own in order to avoid fluctuations in blood glucose and the occurrence of hypoglycemia and other undesirable events, please refer to your doctor’s advice for details. Diabetic patients should follow the doctor’s instructions in the process of insulin injection, discomfort follow-up, do not arbitrarily change the drug, do not arbitrarily increase or decrease the amount, in order to avoid causing adverse events.
