Traditional Chinese Medicine Treatment for Gallbladder Polyps

There is no evidence that Chinese medicine has a significant effect on gallbladder polyps. The main clinical treatments for gallbladder polyps are conservative treatment and surgery, and Chinese medicine is not the preferred treatment. 1. Surgical treatment: For gallbladder polyps with malignant factors, they should be surgically removed. The malignant factors include polyp diameter >10mm, solitary polyp with wide base, gradually increasing polyp size and base widening, combined with gallbladder stones and thickening of the gallbladder wall, etc. The surgical procedure is cholecystectomy. Surgery is cholecystectomy, and rapid pathology is needed during the operation. If malignant transformation occurs, lymph node dissection and liver resection will be carried out depending on the situation. 2. Conservative treatment: For gallbladder polyps without symptoms and the above malignant factors, surgery is not needed. Patients are advised to have ultrasound follow-up every 6 months to observe the changes in polyp size. For patients who have been diagnosed with gallbladder polyps, they should immediately go to the relevant departments of regular hospitals for treatment under the guidance of specialized physicians to avoid delays. For patients with TCM medical needs, they should go to regular TCM hospitals for consultation and treatment.
