Pain in the middle of the knee is considered to be caused by patellofemoral arthritis, knee degeneration and meniscus injury.
1. Patellofemoral arthritis: Patellofemoral arthritis occurs due to the wear and tear of the patellar cartilage and the femoral condyle cartilage, resulting in cracking or peeling of the cartilage. Patients will experience pain in the middle of the knee, which is more severe when going up and down stairs or squatting, and in severe cases, pain will also occur when walking on a level road.
2. Knee degeneration: Due to the degeneration of the knee joint, there is osteomalacia of the intercondylar eminence inside the knee joint, which will also lead to pain in the middle part of the knee joint.
3. Meniscus injury: If there is a medial meniscus injury, it will lead to pain in the middle of the knee, accompanied by pain in the inner side of the knee.
Clinically, there are many causes of pain in the middle of the knee, and patients need to go to the hospital in time for examination, clear causes and timely treatment.
