There are many causes of hematopoietic dysfunction in children, such as congenital factors, malnutrition, infections, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, which should be taken seriously.
1. Congenital factors: mostly due to heredity or lead to, such as hemolytic anemia, thalassemia, hemophilia and so on.
2. Nutritional deficiencies: such as iron deficiency anemia, which is caused by the lack of iron in the body; nutritional megaloblastic anemia, which is caused by the lack of vitamin B12 or folic acid.
3. Infections: diffuse intravascular coagulation, mostly seen in infections, or severe trauma; acute leukemia and viral infections.
4. Radiotherapy and chemotherapy: Radiotherapy is required for tumors, which may destroy the hematopoietic stem cells in the bone marrow and cause hematopoietic dysfunction.
Long-term hematopoietic dysfunction may cause children’s backward growth and development, low immunity, anorexia, etc., and even neuropsychiatric symptoms such as tremor of hands and feet, mental retardation, etc. It is recommended to treat the disease as early as possible.
