Do Irbesartan tablets cause cancer?



Irbesartan does not usually cause cancer, Irbesartan is an anti-hypertensive drug and has not been reported to have side effects that cause cancer.

Irbesartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist and is mainly indicated for the treatment of hypertension.

Irbesartan Adverse Reactions:Common adverse reactions are headache, dizziness, palpitations and occasional cough; symptoms are transient and can be tolerated by most patients if the medication is continued. Urticaria and angioneurotic edema are rare. No carcinogenic side effects have been reported with Irbesartan.

Irbesartan precautions: hypovolemia or sodium deficiency should be corrected before starting treatment, and patients with renal insufficiency may need to reduce the dose of this product. Watch for changes in blood urea nitrogen, blood creatinine and blood potassium. It is prohibited for use in persons who are hypersensitive to this product. It is contraindicated in pregnant and lactating women.
