The aftermath of a meningioma in a fifty-year-old woman

Sequelae of meningioma in a 50-year-old woman are related to the size and location of the tumor. Most of the patients usually do not have sequela, but some of them may have sequelae such as dizziness, headache, epilepsy, muscle weakness, cerebral nerve dysfunction and so on.
1. Dizziness and headache: meningioma grows gradually, which will compress the brain tissue as well as the surrounding bones, blood vessels and nerves, etc. After resection, dizziness and headache will appear as sequelae.
2. Epilepsy: meningioma will damage the cortex of brain tissue, resulting in abnormal discharge of brain nerves, and patients are prone to epilepsy and other sequelae after surgery.
3. Muscle weakness: if the meningioma next to the sinus sickle of cerebral hemisphere will damage the vein of cerebral cortex returning to the venous sinus, or damage the brain tissue during the operation, the patients are prone to have the sequelae of limb weakness after the operation.
4. Cerebral nerve dysfunction: if the meningioma is located in the paracavernous sinus or rocky oblique area, the patients are prone to the sequelae of cerebral nerve dysfunction, such as numbness and pain in the face after the operation.
It is suggested that patients with meningioma should go to the hospital for regular review, and consult the doctor in time when any abnormal situation occurs, so as to avoid delaying the condition.
