Patients with diffuse liver cancer will have abdominal distension, which is mainly caused by ascites formation and weakening of gastrointestinal function of liver cancer. 1. Ascites formation: patients with hepatocellular carcinoma have increased hydrostatic pressure in blood vessels due to portal hypertension, which promotes the formation of ascites. In addition, patients’ decreased protein synthesis ability due to decreased liver function leads to hypoproteinemia and decreased plasma colloid osmotic pressure, which promotes the formation of ascites. 2. Weakening of gastrointestinal function: due to gastrointestinal stagnation and decline in liver function, gastrointestinal function is weakened, and patients suffer from indigestion, which can also lead to symptoms of abdominal distension. For patients diagnosed with liver cancer, they should go to relevant departments of regular hospitals as soon as possible, so as to achieve “early detection, early diagnosis and early treatment”, thus prolonging the survival period and improving the quality of life of patients.
