Stage IIIA of breast cancer is the third stage in TNM staging, which usually belongs to the middle stage, and the five-year survival rate is about 80% after treatment.
Breast cancer is a common malignant tumor in women, which can be divided into four stages according to the development of the primary tumor, the degree of lymph node metastasis, and whether there are distant metastases, i.e. the commonly used TNM staging.
Stage IIIA can contain a variety of situations, tumor ≤5cm, 4-9 axillary lymph node metastases (at least 1 tumor foci >2.0mm); clinically detected lymph node metastasis in the internal breast (parasternal) without axillary metastasis; tumor >5cm, axillary lymph node metastasis <10, and no subclavian lymph node (top of axilla) metastasis.
If the maximum diameter of the tumor is less than or equal to 2CM, lymph node metastasis under the ipsilateral pectoralis minor muscle occurs, and there is no distant metastasis.
This period can be treated by surgery, radiotherapy and other methods, and after active treatment, patients can obtain a five-year survival rate of about 80%. After surgery, attention should be paid to regular review in order to reduce the recurrence rate and prolong the survival period.
