Liu Jun Zi Pill is not usually used for treating cough. Liu Jun Zi Pill has the effect of tonifying the spleen and benefiting the qi, drying dampness and resolving phlegm (removing phlegm from the body with dampness-drying medicines). Chinese herbal formulas such as Sang Ju Drink and Ma Xing Shi Gan Tang can be used for cough. Six Gentlemen Pills, consisting of Codonopsis, Gluten-Fried Atractylodes, Poria, Ginger Semen, Pericarpium Citri Reticulatae and Roasted Glycyrrhiza Uralensis. It is used for weak spleen and stomach, not eating much, deficiency of qi and phlegm, abdominal distension and loose stools (thin and unformed feces). It should be noted that pregnant women should not take it; avoid eating cold, greasy and indigestible food; it is not suitable for yin deficiency of the spleen and stomach (deficiency of yin fluid in the spleen and stomach), which is mainly manifested as dry mouth, red tongue with little fluid, dry and knotty stools. Specific medication should be used under the guidance of a specialist, and should not be used without authorization. If cough is to be treated, it is recommended to follow the doctor’s prescription.
