Quinolone antibiotics are a large class of broad-spectrum antibiotics that are widely used in clinical practice and have now evolved into the fourth generation of antibiotics. The most used in the clinic is the third generation of quinolone antibiotics, including norfloxacin, ciprofloxacin, ofloxacin, levofloxacin, lomefloxacin, fleroxacin and sparfloxacin. The fourth generation of quinolone antibiotics is more often used moxifloxacin, but also gareafloxacin and gemifloxacin. The most used and most effective in clinical application is the treatment of genitourinary tract infections, which can be taken orally or by intravenous infusion, such as levofloxacin, ciprofloxacin, and ofloxacin. It is also widely used in the respiratory system, including the intestinal system, and some fluoroquinolones, which can treat epidemic meningomyelitis and nasopharyngeal bacterial infections. It has relatively more gastrointestinal reactions, and also some central nervous system toxicity, such as dizziness, headache, insomnia, and some photosensitivity reactions, etc.
