Itching of the female urethra

Women who experience itching in the urethra that does not improve over time are advised to go to the hospital for further examination to determine the exact cause. The most common causes are non-gonococcal urethritis due to mycoplasma and chlamydia, and gonorrhea due to streptococcal infection. At the same time, except for the itching in the urethra, whether it is accompanied by yellow or white secretion in the urethra, whether the amount of secretion is more or less thin, whether it is accompanied by burning in the urethra or urinary incontinence during urination, and so on. If there is discharge from the urethra, the secretion is taken for mycoplasma and chlamydia testing and gonococcal culture. If there is no discharge, it is recommended that urine be retained for mycoplasma and chlamydia testing and urine culture. Based on the results of the culture, the appropriate medication will be selected for treatment. If the culture of mycoplasma and chlamydia is positive, it can be diagnosed as nongonococcal urethritis, which is mostly transmitted through unclean sexual contact and requires active treatment.
