Hyperbaric oxygen chambers can be used to assist in the treatment of sudden deafness. Sudden deafness is defined as acute sensorineural deafness with a sudden onset within 72 hours. Clinical recommendation is to apply glucocorticoid therapy as the main treatment, and intravenous or oral glucocorticosteroids, such as methylprednisolone succinate and prednisone tablets, can be considered. Other recommended methods are hyperbaric oxygen chamber, local injection of glucocorticosteroids, such as methylprednisolone succinate injection behind the ear or in the tympanic cavity. Hyperbaric oxygen chamber can be used to treat sudden deafness can increase the partial pressure of oxygen and oxygen content of local tissues, reduce inner ear edema, improve inner ear circulation, thus improving hearing. Combined with a full course of hormonal medication, this can have a substantial therapeutic effect on hearing loss. Sudden deafness usually requires the application of glucocorticoid medications for 5 days first, combined with microcirculation improvement medications, such as ginkgo biloba extract; fiber-lowering medications, such as bacitracin; and, if ineffective, hyperbaric oxygen chambers or topical injections of glucocorticoids may be considered. Hyperbaric oxygen chamber is not usually used as the first-line treatment. Sudden onset of hearing loss, it is recommended to consult a doctor in time to clarify the diagnosis and then actively standardize the treatment. Drugs should be applied under the guidance of a doctor.
