What to do about facial lipomas

Facial lipoma can be followed up and observed if there are no symptoms and no requirement for cosmetic treatment, but if the tumor is large enough to cause symptoms or affect cosmetic treatment, it should be surgically removed.
Lipoma is a common benign soft tissue tumor, including superficial lipoma and deep lipoma. Facial lipoma is a superficial lipoma, which manifests as a localized mass and affects the aesthetics because it grows on the face. According to the size of the tumor, whether there are symptoms or not, and whether there is a requirement for beauty, the treatment can be either follow-up observation or surgical excision.
1. Follow-up observation: If the lipoma is small, clinically asymptomatic, and does not affect the aesthetics or has no requirement for beauty, it can be followed up for observation first.
2. Surgical excision: for the larger size lipoma, or the one that causes the symptom of pressure on the surrounding tissues, or the one that consciously affects the aesthetics, surgical excision of the tumor is the only means of treatment. After surgery for lipoma, we should pay attention to whether there is oozing or pus in the wound to prevent infection.
Facial lipoma should go to the hospital, follow the doctor’s instructions for treatment, do not self-medication.
