When to remove the plate for internal fixation of acetabular fracture

The plate can be left in place after internal fixation of the acetabular fracture, and if it has to be removed, it can be removed when the acetabulum has completely healed on imaging after 1 year or so.
Internal fixation of acetabular fracture is usually not necessary to take out, because exposure of the acetabulum simply plate removal is more traumatic. Moreover, the internal fixation of this part of the body does not have much effect on the human body, so there is no need to remove.
If it is necessary to take out, it is also possible to take out. After acetabular fracture fixation surgery, the plate can usually be removed in about 1 year as long as the healing is smooth, but imaging tests must be performed before removal to make sure that the acetabular fracture is completely healed before it can be removed.
