Breast nodules category 4A biopsied as malignant as well as some benign patients require surgical treatment and some biopsied benign patients do not require surgical treatment.
The BI-RADS (Breast Imaging Reporting and Data System) classification is used to assess the risk of malignancy of breast nodules based on imaging results. category 4A nodules are low suspected of malignancy, with a malignancy likelihood of 2-10%, and should be subjected to histologic examination such as a puncture biopsy.
If the puncture result is malignant, such as breast cancer, breast-conserving surgery, modified radical surgery or radical surgery, and supplemented with radiotherapy, chemotherapy, endocrine therapy and other comprehensive treatment are required.
If the result of puncture is benign, some patients need surgery, such as fibroma, intraductal papilloma, feasible lumpectomy or segmental resection of the breast. While patients with breast cysts, breast hyperplasia and mastitis do not need surgery, they can be followed up and observed, and treated with drugs such as oral tamoxifen and penicillin.
It is recommended that patients should consult the doctor in time and follow the doctor’s instructions for further examination and treatment.
