How to check progesterone

Progesterone can be checked through a blood draw. Progesterone is a natural progesterone hormone secreted by the corpus luteum of the ovary. Progesterone test can be performed by blood draw and there is no need for fasting during the test. The value of progesterone varies from one menstrual cycle to another. It is usually 0.6~1.0nmol/L during the follicular phase, 1.0~11.2nmol/L during the ovulation phase, and 20.8~103.0nmol/L after ovulation. Progesterone value will rise after pregnancy, in early pregnancy is 35.68~286.2nmol/L, in mid-pregnancy is 81.25~284.29nmol/L, and in late pregnancy is 153.91~1,343.55nmol/L. If the value of progesterone is low in early pregnancy, it will be easy to have preterm miscarriage and other situations. If abnormal progesterone value is found through examination, it should be actively consulted, especially during pregnancy, to avoid preeclampsia.
