The length of the umbilical cord is not checked after pregnancy. Before the 11th week of pregnancy, there is no placenta and umbilical cord, there is no need to check the umbilical cord in the early stages of pregnancy. After the middle of pregnancy, ultrasound routinely looks at the umbilical cord, but cannot measure the length of the umbilical cord, ultrasound can see the number of arteries and veins in the umbilical cord, there is no umbilical cord kinks, umbilical cord entanglement, umbilical cord torsion, umbilical cord cysts and other abnormalities, and the discovery of anomalies can be further processed. The normal length of the umbilical cord is 30-70cm, with an average of 55cm. If the umbilical cord is shorter than 30cm, it is considered too short, and if it is longer than 70cm, it is considered too long. Since the umbilical cord is curved and coiled, ultrasound cannot measure the length of the umbilical cord, but it can check whether the umbilical cord is wrapped around the neck or whether there are abnormalities in the blood flow. It is important to have regular checkups after pregnancy in order to detect any abnormalities.
