Tacrolimus Side Effects

Common dosage forms of tacrolimus include tacrolimus capsules, tacrolimus injection, and tacrolimus ointment, and different dosage forms have different side effects.
Tacrolimus capsules and tacrolimus injection are mainly used to prevent graft rejection after liver or kidney transplantation and to treat graft rejection after liver or kidney transplantation when other immunosuppressive drugs have failed.
Common side effects include tachycardia, blood abnormalities, tremor, headache, dizziness, blurred vision, tinnitus, dyspnea, nasal congestion, gastrointestinal upset, renal failure, pruritus, rash, alopecia, excessive sweating, pain, hyperglycemia, diabetes mellitus, hyperkalemia, hypertension, hemorrhage, fever, edema, weight gain, dyspareunia, hepatic dysfunction, and psychiatric abnormalities, among other symptoms.
Tacrolimus Ointment is primarily used for moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis that cannot be treated with conventional therapy due to non-immuno-compromised underlying factors, that does not respond well to the use of conventional therapy, and that cannot tolerate conventional therapy.
Common side effects include itching, burning, rash, acne, headache, flu-like symptoms, folliculitis, sinusitis, myalgia, back pain, dyspepsia, cysts, and other symptoms.
