What are the principles of fracture treatment

There are three major principles in the treatment of fractures, namely, repositioning, fixation and functional exercise therapy. 1.Resetting is to restore the normal or nearly normal anatomical relationship of the displaced fracture segment and to reconstruct the scaffolding role of the bone. It is the first step in the treatment of fracture and the basis of fracture fixation and rehabilitation. Early and correct repositioning is necessary for the smooth healing process of the fracture. Fixation is the key to fracture healing by maintaining the fracture in the repositioned position and making it heal firmly with good alignment. Rehabilitation is to restore the stretching and contracting activities of the affected limb muscles, tendons, ligaments, joint capsule and other soft tissues as soon as possible without affecting the fixation. Early and reasonable functional exercise can promote blood circulation of the affected limb, eliminate swelling, reduce muscle atrophy, maintain muscle strength, prevent osteoporosis, joint stiffness and promote fracture healing, which is an important guarantee to restore the function of the affected limb.
