How to Rehabilitate a Thigh Fracture

Quadriceps isotonic contraction exercises, active ankle joint activities, joint mobility training, muscle strength training in the late stage of rehabilitation can be carried out for thigh fracture.
1. Quadriceps isotonic contraction exercise: it can be performed at the early stage of rehabilitation. Keeping the lower limb straight, forcefully contracting the thigh muscle, keeping the quadriceps muscle tense and relaxed, this will help to squeeze the two ends of thigh bone fracture, make the fracture end closer, and keep the quadriceps muscle with enough muscle tension, which will promote the stabilization of the fracture end and healing.
2. Ankle joint active activities: can be performed at the early stage of rehabilitation. Patients can take the initiative to perform ankle joint exercises, including plantarflexion, dorsiflexion and ankle rotation, especially flexion and extension exercises, which can help to promote the blood circulation of the lower limbs and avoid the formation of venous thrombosis in the lower limbs.
3. Restore joint mobility training: about 5 days after effective immobilization treatment, straight leg raising and knee flexion/extension activities can be carried out, and then hip joint movement training in all directions can be carried out. In the early stage, weightless activities can be performed in bed to restore the mobility of the joint.
4. Late rehabilitation muscle training: you can start crutches to help get out of bed, and then gradually increase the weight-bearing capacity of the lower limbs, and finally get rid of the crutches to realize independent movement, and then weight-bearing exercise, which will help to restore the muscle strength of the lower limbs.
After the fracture of the thigh, must strictly follow the doctor’s instructions or under the guidance of the rehabilitation division for rehabilitation exercise, do not rush, do not rest still, to avoid the occurrence of joint dysfunction.
