Can you get gynecological diseases from an IUD?

If you do not have basic gynecological diseases, such as vaginitis and cervicitis, IUDs generally do not cause gynecological diseases because IUDs are sterile uterine operations. If you suffer from vaginal inflammation or cervical inflammation before IUD, after IUD placement, it may lead to upward infection of inflammation, resulting in pelvic inflammatory disease, tubal inflammation and other inflammatory diseases, and patients may show abnormal discharge and abdominal pain. Some women get gynecological diseases after the IUD, probably because they are allergic to the metal, and will often have irregular vaginal bleeding after the procedure, which can easily lead to infection. After the IUD is placed in the uterus, some women get sterile endometrial inflammation due to the compression of the endometrium by the IUD. In addition, there are women who choose birth control rings with tails, which can easily irritate the cervical canal and induce chronic inflammation.
